Pakistani film festival to screen titles from Iran

The Asia Peace Film Festival in Pakistan is to screen more than 30 Iranian films.

The Asia Peace Film Festival (APFF) has scheduled to screen more than 30 Iranian titles.

The Iranian titles include ‘Present Company Expected’, ‘Light Sight’, ‘For Freedom’, ‘A Short Nap’, ‘My Heart’, ‘O+Ab-‘, ‘The Orangish Tree’, ‘Rope’, ‘Soldiers Like They are Storks’, ‘The Scarecrow Also Die’, ‘My Heritage Singing’, ‘The Angle of Thousand Stones’, ‘Running Against the Wind’, ‘Love Her Like a Sister’, and ‘Mama Homa’.

Iran’s lineup goes on with ‘Mother’, ‘So Easy’, ‘In Mediterranean Arm’, ‘A Share of Share’, ‘Numbness’, ‘The Vacant Closet’, ‘Hanging’, ‘Refugee Camp’, ‘Cube’, ‘Whistle’, ‘Salt Man’, ‘Paintings’, ‘Chelipa’, ‘My Cley Conception’, ‘Alan’, and ‘The Lives of Others’.

Starting on September 21, the event will also screen a number of short films and animated pieces from Pakistan, Iraq, Syria, Afghanistan, China, Turkey, India, Korea, Russia, Japan and some other Asian countries.

Iranian Cultural Attaché in Islamabad Shahabeddin Daraie said Iran appreciates the cultural attempt by Pakistani officials to organize such an event.

He also noted that such global festivals would be very helpful to show the competence of Asian filmmakers in film production and introducing the cinematic capabilities in their countries.

Iran is ready to cooperate with Pakistan on organizing international film festivals, Daraie added.

The 2017 edition of the APFF is slated for September 21-23 in Islamabad, Pakistan.
